The ULTRA systems are extremely versatile timing solutions. The timer has options in the type of tags they use for an event, either disposable or the re-usable ULTRATAG and what type of antenna they use.
This versatility not only allows the user to choose the most appropriate set-up for their race environment, it also is an extremely adaptable unit that can be very effectively used for a number of sports.
Some examples of how different combinations suit different applications are described below:
- The ULTRA 8 combined with road mats can build 8 m start and finish lines, ideal for large participant running events using disposable tags. This setup is commonly used for Fun runs.
- The ULTRA 8 can also be configured to make two 4m start/finish lines using one as a main and one as a backup. An alternative may be to use a set of 6 mats and 2 side antenna (as the backup). The options are numerous, with 8 available ports to drive antenna.
- ULTRA 4 can also be used in the same fashion. Commonly used with side antennas it is the perfect unit for timing smaller races or as split timing point. A great option for the pro timer using a combination of ULTRA 8 and ULTRA 4 units.
- All the ULTRA units whatever the setup are all able to read disposable tags or the multi-sport ULTRATAG.
